Caribbean for Visitors/Carribean Cruise

Question
QUESTION: My husband and I want to enjoy a fun cruise to the Caribbean to celebrate our 25th anniversary.  We would like to know if November is a good time to go (weather?), what is a couple of great cruise companies you have used, and what are some really great things to do.  We want to see the natural surroundings, snorkel & kayak, view the buildings, and any historical sites (I'm a teacher and love learning). We have looked at the southern part(San Juan, Puerto Rico to Barbados)and that looks like we would see more islands and less ship time.  What can you share with us to make this a really great trip to remember.  We plan to share the trip with my sister and her husband who are celebrating their 11th.  Thanks.

ANSWER: Hi DeAnna,

My darling wife of 14 years and I have sailed the Southern itinerary many times and it is without a doubt our favorite. My recommendation to you is that you make every attempt to sail on the Crown Princess (Princess Cruise Line) or, Adventure of the Seas (Royal Caribbean Cruise Line). They both do wonderful itineraries in the Southern Caribbean and you will have plenty of ship time as well. Both lines and ships offer phenomenal entertainment and the pool deck activities during the day are fantastic. The interior of both ships have a decor to die for. Since I sailed on both I can assure that you won't be disappointed.

As far as the weather is concerned, your safe. Hurricane season is June-November but don't be apprehensive about this. I've sailed in November and have been fortunate not to run into any discouraging weather. As a matter of fact, we had clear skies and smooth seas in November. The fact that you intend to travel with and share your anniversaries together with your sister and her husband will definitely make your trip more memorable.

Both ships and cruise lines I previously mentioned provide a wide variety of excursions and activities that will suit your expectations. In fact, they will exceed your expectations. As you continue to search for just the right sailing remember these few ideas that I have provided for you. Itinerary, cruise line, ship and entertainment is an ideal formula for a wonderful anniversary.

Warm regards,

John

QUESTION: Thanks John and your dear wife for sail before us.  We will not be able to take either of the ships you mentioned, although we really wanted the Adventure of the Seas (since I grew up in snow country, I love to ice skate), but Seranade of the Seas and Caribbeam Princess are the two ships that are being used at that time in the South.  Could you recommend one of those?  Thank you.

Answer
Hi DeAnna,

This is a tough choice to make considering both shipd are great. However, if I had to choose it would be the Caribbean Princess. The service and food is slightly better and there is planty of great entertainment. I also like the Lido Deck (pool deck)set-up much better than on RCL.

Regards,

John
