Thinking of going on holiday to dome republic to riu hotel which is best north or south end of sept oct taking 4 granddaugter with us what is weather like or can you suggest hotel

Hi Christine,

   The best advice I can provide you with is...Stay away from Punta Cana. Your best bet is Puerto Plata. If I had to choose between September or October, I would travel in early September. Hurricane season ends in November in the Caribbean so your weather will be better in Puerto Plata. Its more commercialized with much more to do outside the resorts. Look into Gran Ventana, Puerto Plata. My wife and I stayed there twice in 2007 and had a blast. Our contact there is Bolivar Morales. He works at the tour desk at the Gran Ventana (all-inclusive). Bolivar takes very good care of his guests, especially if you tell him I recommended you. The best rates can be found at www.bookinhotels.com. A web site that specializes in the Dome Republic.
