Caribbean for Visitors - December/January weather and temps

Expert: Jennifer Byrne - 9/15/2009

Question
What is the weather and temps like during the months of December and January.  Also can u tell me of any other destinations during thi time of year that would be warm.  We would be flying out of North Carolina and are interested in caribbean or mexico areas for a within budget distance of travel.  Will it be warm enough to enjoy some good sunshine and some beach (sun) during this time of the year.

Answer
Hi Liz,

The weather in the Caribbean during December and January stays in the 80s typically. Of course, far northern islands can get a cold spell during that time. I've been in Cancun in December and its been down right chilly. So if you want really great weather, I would seek out locations farther south like St Lucia, Barbados, Aruba, Antigua and the like. Of course choosing the right location is based on many different variables such as type of resort interested in, activities of interest, budget, etc.

I would be happy to point you in the right direction. We do not charge our clients for our services.  Feel free to contact us directly for assistance.

Thank you,
