Question
Hello Laura

I am thinking of booking a cruise to leave florida on the 15th October and visiting the western carribean islands, i realise it is hurricane season but i wondered whether you could give me your opinion before i book?

Do you think a hurricane is likely? and what will the weather be like if there is not?

I look forward to hearing from you,

Regards

Hayley

Answer
Dear Hayley,

Thank you for your question. I do not sell cruises, but I can certainly advise on the weather! And my advice would be.... it is a tough call. Aside from last year, I visited the Caribbean every year without experiencing bad weather. Last year, we caught the beginning of Hurricane Wilma. So... it is very hard to predict. You certainly do increase your risk of bad weather traveling between Sept-November. However, the rates are usually the best during these months. If you decide to travel to the Caribbean in October, I recommend travel insurance.

Thank you,
Laura
