Question
1. If we have a 4:00 departure on carnival what time can we board?
2. does the miami airport offer shuttle service to miami port of call
3. on our return, can we have a rental car waiting for us at the port in the morning since we have the whole day to spend before flying home?  If so can you recommend which car rental does this?

Susan, you're going to have a great time!  You can board usually at noon.  There are always people there early, but you just stand in line waiting.  We usually board around 1:30, and unless there is a busload of people, it's usually a wait of no more than 5 min.

Yes, you can take a shuttle from the airport to Miami, you can also take a cab.  If there are 2 of you, I'd take the cab so you don't need to wait for the shuttle to fill up before you leave.  Prices are changing every day it seems; to get the most current prices you can google "Miami Airport shuttle" and look at the most current pricing.

I don't know of any rental companies that will have a car waiting at the port.  You may want to consider taking a tour with carnival after you arrive.  Your luggage is taken care of, the tours are reasonable and Carnival will get you to the airport on time.
