Question
we're getting married in January and are limited in our funds. Is it possible to buy 1 suite room for a cruise and a regular room and have my wife stay in the suite room with me. This would avoid paying twice for the suite price.

Answer
There is a minimum cost of the cabin, you pay about 150% for singles, so you'd be paying 150% for the suite and ditto for the cabin.  It's called a "single supplement".

Of course, call the cruise lines directly and ask what the single supplement  cost is.  Then you'll need to do your math.

good thought though....

If you're not going to be in your cabin a lot, consider a mini suite or a balcony room.  Carnival has nice mini suites.
