Question There are 6 of us cruising with Carnival on July 26th out of the Miami port. What are the transportation options from Ft. Lauderdale airport and Miami airport to and from the port?
Answer Shari, you have several options..
If you're flying into Ft Laud, you can take the Mears shuttle from Ft.Laud to the port, around $25.00 per person. No need to book ahead, just get your luggage, walk outside of the airport (ground floor) and follow the "shuttle" signs. There will be a stand there and they'll ask you where you're going.
You can also take a cab from Ft Laud to Port, but because of luggage, you probably can only get 3 people in the cab, cost will be a little less, but not much. Same as above, just go outside to cab stand.
Carnival will meet you at the airport and transfer you if you book your transfers thru them. Same for return on all of these. This is the least hassle, cause they handle your bags, but also you will wait longer for all passengers to get their bags out and on to the bus.
If your flight leaves late in the afternoon after your cruise, you can also take a few of the tours offered thru carnival and they'll still return you to the airport in time for your flight.
