Carnival/disembarkation time

QuestionWill I be able to make a 10 am flight out of Miami airport if the Carnival cruise docks at 8 am? How long does it typically take to disembark? What transportation is available to get to the airport?
AnswerChances are VERY SLIM you will make that flight despite the ship arriving at 8am, it still has to clear customs. If there are any delays by non US citizens meeting customs at the scheduled time, the ship will not be cleared and NO ONE will be getting off that ship till the Customs officials give the all clear to debark. So, as you can see...I would not chance it unless you have purchased a ticket that allows changes on the date of travel for a minimal or no change fee's.... This is too risky and Miami is a ZOO when compared to Lauderdale or Tampa, Orlando, etc..... I would not suggest a flight BEFORE 12 noon to avoid any possible stress due to potential delays. There will be cabs available at the pier when you debark the ship. Also remember with the TSA regulations, you need to be to the airport at minimum 1 hour (2 hours for some airports due to crowds) before your scheduled flight. Also if there are many ships in MIA when you return from your cruise, remember that many of those passengers also have to get to the airport and even making LONGER LINES when checking in and going thru security.
Have a great cruise and try to catch a later flight if possible.
