Question
on June 21 my wife and i who live in Tamarac and my daughter and her aunt who live in Pompano Beach will have to get to the port for our cruise on the Valor and return to our original site a week later. what is the best way for us to make this trip? i see where the parking rate is $20.00 per day if you drive there. i am a Korean vet, any discount given to a vet?   thank you for your help.

Answer
I have some suggestions you may want to think about.  First, you can't get the luggage for 4 people in one car, it just won't work, so you'd need 2 cars X 7 days and $40 or $280 for the 2 cars for a week.  UGH, that's expensive!

For less than that, you can call and get pricing on limos, since you're close, Tamarac and Pompano Beach...one of you drive to the others home and leave your car there.  We always do the limo when there is 4 of us and it was costing us about $100 each way,(plus tip) which is still cheaper than 2 cars.I don't remember who we used as when we moved to Orlando I lost his card.  I did need to do a bunch of calling around though to get a decent price.  this guy lived in Pompano if I remember correctly. No parking hassle, no waiting when we were ready to leave and come home.

You each could have friends drive you an drop you off, which on the way down is not a big deal, but the pick up after a cruise is a pain in the butt cause you don't know what time you're getting off the ship.

You could also call Super Shuttle and ask what there charge is, last time it was about $25 per person each way.

There are no discounts in Miami for parking....for anyone.

You could also rent a van, drop the other 3 off at the port, then drop the van off at Miami airport and catch the shuttle back to the port.

These are the ones I can think of at this moment anyway.  Enjoy your cruise.....
