Carnival - Carnival to Key West and Cozumel

Expert: Linda - 6/20/2009

Question
First time crusing with Carnival and was concerned about the H1N1 virus (Swine Flu) at port of Cozumel. Can't decide whether to go on cruise or not. Will be taking 2 kids, ages 13 and 16.

Answer
Nicole, that's a great question!  Carnival has been changing ports so they don't hit Mexico.  I don't know when you're going, but it may or may not change.  Please keep in touch with your travel agent or if you booked with Canrival, keep in touch with them.

From all I've read and researched on the internet, it appears the flu targets for severity with the very young and the elderly with pre existing conditions.

Nicole, don't cancel your cruise, you truly can depend on canival to do the right thing.  They certainly do NOT want 1000 passengers getting sick.....the publicity alone and following law suits could bankrupt them!  Cruise lines have deep pockets and they want to keep it that way...not use it to pay off lawsuits.

Go on your cruise and enjoy yourselves!

Ask away should you have more questions....remember, keep in touch with TA or Carnival for updates on port stops.

Linda
