My husband and I would like to take my 7 year old son on a cruise.  However, I have never been on one and don't know much about taking or booking one. Obviously I would like it to be kid friendly and also enjoyable for myself and my husband.  We live just one town over from New Orleans and would like to depart from here.  I would prefer for it to be at least a 5 or 7 day cruise since we are not traveling to depart. I would like it to be reasonably priced but does not have to be the cheapest price.

You can look at Carnival Criuselines to meet your expectations and budget for certain. Pricing will depend on the time of year you with to sail as well as how early you are booking your trip. Fall will be the least expensive time, but you must factor in it being hurricane season though. Carnival offers a wonderful childrens program "Camp Carnival".
