Carnival/Cruise Ideas For Kids
Expert: Curtis Thorsen - 3/28/2005
QuestionWe are currently planning for summer vacation and we need your help.
My wife and I have a 4 year old girl and 6 year old boy. We recently returned from New Orleans. We took them to see the Aquarium and the Zoo for Spring Break. They had a pretty good time but they hated the heat and walking everywhere. They had a blast at the hotel swimming and looking around. Armed with that information, we thought it would be a good idea to take them on a 3-4 day fun cruise, departing from New Orleans or Mobile. We need to go in June or maybe July. Something with lots of acitivities appropriate for young children that won't "break" me.
What do you think? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
AnswerHi Richard.... well a cruise is a wonderful wat to see things and lots of activities on a Carnival Ship for the entire family. You must keep in mind that you are seeking to cruise at possibly the most expensive time of the year with holiday sailings be the most costly... school is out and cruises are in !
You only option for a cruise will be a 4 nighter out of Mobile aboard the "Holiday" or a 4 nighter out of New Orleans aboard the "Sensation" both being Carnival Cruiselines ships. Both ships will only offer 1 port of call at Cozumel and 2 FUN days at sea.
To help keep that costs down, consider going for an inside stateroom that can accommodate up to 5 passengers... you will not be in the stateroom that much except to sleep, shower and change... for this short of a cruise I think it will be all you need.
I would suggest going to www.carnival.com and see what their ships is all about as well as a great website to see what Carnival offers for their passengers.
Have a great cruise and if I can be of more assistance or help you in the booking of the first cruise... feel free to contact me.
Happy Spring !
