Carnival/Front of the Ship

QuestionI saw a show on the Travel Channel about cruising. Is it true that if your stateroom is close to the front of the ship you hear the anchor being lowered as you pull into port (especially if its some ridiculous hour of the morning while you're asleep)? I'm booked on the Imagination cruise to the Eastern Caribbean and my stateroom in an oceanview pretty close to the front. Should I switch rooms while I have the chance?
Thanks!!!!
AnswerYes, it's true you can hear the anchor being lowered, but in our 27 cruises, we rarely arrive at a dock at 4 or 5 AM,unless it's coming back into Ft.Laud or Miami on debarkation day. There is always some sounds when the ship docks, if near the back, you'll hear the stern thrusters, if closer to the front, the bow thrusters. We've never found noise to be an issue. If you're doing St Juan, that's an afternoon stop, St Thomas is generally 7-8 AM, St Martin ditto. If you like where your cabin is, I'd stick with it. Have a wonderfu cruise!
