Question2 actually we are travelling in on december 9-16 on the carnival valor. Just wondered if you knew anything about the frequency of port cancellations this time of year and also if you knew the exact location or city of the grand cayman port of call??? THANK YOU!
AnswerDustan, you must already be packed! You'll have a wonderful time.
As to port cancellations, they only happen with bad weather or a problem with the ship. At times there is rough seas and Grand Cayman may be cancelled as it is a port that you tender to the dock via smaller boat. We've been there probably 8 times, only 1 was cancelled. The seas have been fine lately and no hurricanes in the area at this time.
There is only one port in Grand Cayman, it's Georgetown. That's the one the ships all use. If you google grand Caymen, you'll be able to see Georgetown. If you haven't been before, please do the stingray tour. We used "Captain Marvin". You can book online although no money is paid until you are ready to sail. You walk out of the dock, then make a left turn, it's about a 6-7 min walk and he's on the right side of the street.
HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME
