Carnival/shopping on board

Question
We will be taking a cruise on board the carnival victory. I have been told that there is a mall
on board. Is that a mall like a land mall? If not what will it contain? Will they take personal checks or should I take travelers checks
for on board and port expenses.
thank you

Answer
No, the "mall" is nothing like on land.  There is a liquor/cigarette/souvenier shop, one that has clothes cruise type and formal.  One that has jewelry, another crystal, a make-up/perfume shop, also a place where you can order formal ware, candies and flowers for occastions.

Don't need checks or travelers checks.  Your purchases will be put on your carnival card, which is the same one that opens your cabin door, gets you your drinks, you charge your port tours to it as well.

When you first board, you'll be asked for a credit card.  They take that info and all of your charges on board and for anything else on the ship (except casino $ ) will be charged to that card.  You will only need "cash" for purchases off the ship.

You'll love the Victory, sailed her last September.  We're taking her sister the Liberty this December.
