Question
Hi,

I am a 33 yaer old male looking for ideas on vacations for single people. I may have a buddy going along but may go solo. I would like to go somewhere that is kinda status single oriented but I would like to stay away from anything too cheesy. We were thinking about a cruise. By the way, we are not gay...I don't know if that matters but considering the question I felt it necessary to share that bit of info with you.
Thanks for any help.

Answer
Hi Bob,
I think as a single you'll have fun on Carnival.  Even if you were gay you'd still have a good time!. Cruising makes sense as you'll know your costs ahead of time (except booze and side tours), you will visit different ports, there is plenty to do on board.  Try to find a roommate as the single cabin cost is really expensive for one.  I would also suggest you take the Eastern caribbean, it's more fun and better ports, unless you're into Myan ruins, then the Western would be better for you.  Carnival always has a singles party so you will know who's on board that are single as well.  But, don't let that status keep you from making friends with couples.  Hubby and I always seem to make friends with the singles, guess cause' we're friendly and we all have a good time. Also, you'll meet the crew and if you find some you like, they'll invite you to hang with them too in port...and they KNOW every place that's "in".  If you have any other questions, just ask.
