PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR QUESTION:
We no longer answer how-to questions (i.e. How do I propagate...?; How do I grow...?).
Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
Question I was thinking about getting a Dewy Pine and was wondering how I should care
for it? I live in NY,NY. I get full sun outside and inside I get a hour of direct
light and bright indirect light for the rest of the day?
Answer Hi Luca,
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unless you have a sunny, hot west window, or a greenhouse, Drosophyllum would be just a summer plant for you. You wouldn't have enough light in the winter. You would need strong artificial light to sustain it. They need strong sunlight since this is a Mediterranean, almost semi-desert plant. Here's a website that will give you a great course in growing them: http://www.bestcarnivorousplants.com/Drosophyllum_lusitanicum.htm
