PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR QUESTION:
We no longer answer how-to questions (i.e. How do I propagate...?; How do I grow...?).
Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
Question I have an unusual problem with my Heliamphora. The flower stem has reached the top of the hood that holds the tubes.
If I spin the plant around so the flower is outside the hood then the stem dips down and it turns inward to where the light is.
If I raise the hood so that it no longer touches the bud, will that allow enough light for the plants? Should I continue to move the stem outside the hood but keep it at the same height?
It is a 2 ft long dual tubed florescent, and it seems to be producing enough light.
Answer Hi John,
See if you can use a fluorescent desk lamp above the flower blossom. (Let it go outside the tank). That way you can leave the regular fixture at the same height. That should help keep the flower upright.
