Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
Question Does a Venus fly trap have to be keep in a terrarium? I will be keeping it in the house.
Thank you,
Stella
Answer Hi Stella,
Terrarium growing is one of the leading causes of plant death among first time would-be growers of Venus flytraps. We highly discourage it. Since it is a US native, Venus flytraps do best as outdoor container plants.
