Hello
)
I just got my package with my Pinguicula Primuliflora. It had a flower stalk and the next day the flower opened. But the flower is white and it's already looking like it's closing... I was wondering is this is normal or what is going to happen? Also many people say a Pinguicula primuliflora is self-pollinating and some say it's not.. is it?

Hi Justin,
This is normal. The flowers usually last just a couple of days. Yours also just underwent the stress of shipping.
I would say that P. primuliflora doesn't self-pollinate, but they do seem to produce seed even if cross pollinated from flowers on the same plant. Most P. primuliflora in cultivation are clones from tissue culture, and asexually reproduce readily anyway. They take and produce seed much more easily than many of the Mexican butterworts.
