Question

Cobra Lily
Allexperts,

Could you help me in identifying, what Cobra Lily do I have.  I have hopefully attached picture to this message.

Sincerely,

Weylin Callery

Answer
Hi Weylin,

From your photo, it's still difficult to determine the variety of plant you have.  Generally you have to wait until you have a much larger pitcher.  But my first impression was the coastal variety.  I'm not entirely certain because sometimes small pitchers of the mountain variety will also look like that.  When you have a fully developed pitcher later this season, send me another photo and I'll make a more positive ID for you.

Good growing!

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
