Carnivorous Plants/Giant Staghorn Sundew

Question
1) I bought a couple Giant Staghorn Sundews about 2 weeks ago, and some Spoon-Leaf Sundews, and the Staghorns are dying, and I'm not sure why. :(
2) The tips of the plant are no longer generating dew, and they're turning black and curling up:

The windows are facing south and east. They are being given Portland Bull Run water, which the seller (cobraplant.com) said was adequate for the plants. The plants are in the peat moss that they came in.

Hi Ryan,
Thank-you for including the picture links. That always helps. They're not dying. It's very normal for them to cycle through leaves, and you'll see that dying from the tips like that as a leaf goes away. You'll see new ones developing from the crown of the plant. Over time you often see a skirt of dead leaves on fork-leaf sundews.
You may be experiencing your plants not looking their best simply because we haven't had much sun. If we get a stretch of sunny weather, like it looks we will later this week, they will perk up. I would recommend getting them closer to the window. These plants need full sun. We often grow Giant Staghorns outside during the summer among the Sarracenia pitcher plants. They get about 8 hours of direct sun.

| Comment | Oooooooooook, that makes sense. There are new little buds popping up at the same time that the other ones are withering, so I was a bit confused. When the sun has been out I have pout them outside so they're directly in it, so I will be sure to keep doing that. Thank you so much for the insight!! I really appreciate it. :) -Ryan | ||
