Carnivorous Plants/Leaf growth on Nepenthes

Question

N. Kohala
Hi,
I noticed on one of my Nepenthes that leaves are starting to grow back out where they previously browned and were cut off. This hasn't happened on my other Nepenthes. Is this something to do with this variety (N. Kohala), or am I doing something wrong with the others that aren't re-sprouting leaves.
thanks,
Guy

Answer
Hi Guy,

No you're not doing anything wrong.  Some varieties of Nepenthes will do this very readily.  Others don't do this at all.  So don't worry about why your other plants aren't doing it.  Just make sure the plants are growing in the recommended growing conditions.  As long as your plants have good growth and appears healthy, you have nothing to worry about.  For more information about growing Nepenthes, watch Volume 3 of the Grow Carnivorous Plants DVD series.

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
