Question
Hi guys...very informative section. My question is, since I've received many Pitcher and VFT's from you and I've ordered them in different size pots, would it be better for the plant and it's growth for me to transplant them into large 6" pots immediately and then every 2 years or so replant into a fresh peat/perilite mix

Hi Dave,
Yes! Larger pots are good for a variety of reasons. They don't dry out as fast if a water tray goes dry unexpectedly, the soil doesn't break down as fast, and they have better protection during the winter. Overall, all the plants have more rooom to grow. Also, plants like Venus Flytraps that like being just a touch drier are higher up out of the water. Transplanting this time of year is fine, just keep your root disturbance minimal. With your Sarracenia, just don't do any division. March is best for that.
