Question

Nepenthes Viking x amp
Hello

I took a chance today by purchasing a Nepenthes Viking x ampullaria.  It looked very healthy and was packed with pitchers and three small ones are it.  I re-potted in the Nepenthes mix purchased at Cobraplants.com and did it step by step from the video, with Superthrive.  I wanted to make sure that this kind of Nepenthes will live in my conditions?  I'm not sure if you recall the conditions of my house from my very recent post if not please let me know.

Thanks Justin

Answer
Hi Justin,

You have a nice window for your plants, it will just depend on how well this hybrid tolerates those conditions.  Because of all of its lowlander ancestry it is going to want to be warm.  Overall hybrids tend to be way more tolerant of varying conditions.  I would say you'll just have to give it time there and see how it does.  If after about 6 months it won't grow any new pitchers for you, it may need to be someplace warmer and more humid.

Good Growing!

PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR QUESTION:
We no longer answer how-to questions (i.e. How do I propagate...?; How do I grow...?).

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
