Question
Hello again, I have been growing some stem cuttings in a grow chamber with perlite that you mentioned in your vol. 3 DVD under artificial light for about 7 weeks and started to acclimate them 2 weeks ago I have included a picture of one of them.The question that I have is when is a good time to put them in the soil mix, I still after 7 weeks have not seen any real root formation.I took the lid off a week ago to fully acclimate them.I also wanted to know if and when they are ready to pot would it be a good idea to dip the root in superthrive before transplanting them.Any help or other information would be greatly apprecated.Thanks again.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for sending the photo. That always helps. Your cuttings are close, but not quite ready yet. You need roots about an inch long before planting. I see a little shoot developing at the top. Usually roots form around the same time as that. You also need to be sure and harden them off since they have been in a propagating chamber. I don't think you need any more Superthrive. Usually when cuttings are rooting very slowly, it's because of temperatures. Try to make sure the chamber is staying around 80 degrees. Bottom heat can help with this. Just be patient. They are getting there.
