Question

Drosera multifida
Hello

Recently I've notice my Drosera Multifida growing extremely well and taking over it's 3-inch pot.  The hard Florida rain is washing away the soil protecting the gaint roots crawling out of the pot.  The growth of the plant has slowed down and the roots are showing from the top of the pot I was making sure it's still a "O.k." time to transplant it to a new pot, if so can I also take one or two root cuttings or no?

(sorry about the blur in the photo it was to humid outside for the lens)

Answer
Hi Justin,

Yes, it's perfectly fine to repot your plant.  With this species, you can repot it at any time of the year.  If you wish to take root cuttings, this is also a good time to do so.  This plant is also very resilient and will recover quickly.  Simply follow the instructions for repotting and root cuttings as demonstrated in Volume 2 of the Grow Carnivorous Plants DVD series.

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
