Question
Hello there Jeff and Jacob, I have been looking for information on growing N. alba throughout the internet, but sadly have not had much luck. I was wondering if you guys knew whether this species could be grown in lower humidity? I have an ultra-highland tank set up, but with limited space, so if it can be grown with my other highlanders that would be great. I haven't bought it yet, so I'm checking first to see if it would work out. Thanks and hope you guys are staying warm.
Hi Manuel,
Nepenthes alba is considered a hybrid of N. gracillima x N. macfarlanei. We've not grown N. gracillima. We've had N. macfarlanei, and it was a poor grower for us. I would venture to say that elevated humidity would be needed for this one. They are highlanders, so cooler temperatures would be great. Having said that, you may just need to experiment. Not many people are growing this plant yet. It depends on how expensive the plant is. I would be very curious to hear your results.
