Question
I have some small D. filiformis and they appear to have mildew which is destroying some leaf tips. Plants are growing indoors under lights this winter as they are too small to be left outside.  Temperature is around 69 degrees F.  What can I use on them that might help but not kill?

Answer
Hi Cheryl,

This product would be my top recommendation:  http://www.bayeradvanced.com/tree-shrub-care/products/3-in-1-insect-disease-mite...  It has a safe fungicide in it that is systemic, and we've found it effective.

On a side note, the problems you're having sound like a direct result of having the plant indoors.  If they are the typical form (not the red), Drosera filiformis ssp. filiformis, they are plants found in zones 8 - 5.  They can take winters much colder than Texas.  Typically these plants would be dormant this time of year.

Good Growing!

PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR QUESTION:
We no longer answer how-to questions (i.e. How do I propagate...?; How do I grow...?).

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
