Question
odd thing growing
odd thing growing
Allexperts,

I found these white things growing on my plant.  I used a sulfur based fungicide on the plant.  I did find the number of times you are to use the product.  The Tebuconazole is the one you guys used in the fungicide podcast.   Do you have any tips you could give would be very much helpful.  Thank you for your time.  photo should be attached

Plant obtained from= Sarracenia Northwest
water= distilled
light= 1600 lumes worth
Fungicide = Tebuconazole from Bayer

Sincerely,

Weylin

Answer
Hi Weylin,

So, it sounds like you're using the Bayer 3 in 1.  Just follow the application directions for frequency.  It is usually once a month.  Be sure to wet the foliage so the plant can absorb the chemicals.

It also looks like you have a cup-type container for your water dish.  Make sure you are keeping the water no more than 1/4 of the way up the pot.  Keeping the water too deep can cause problems.

I would also examine your white patches with a hand-lens.  I can't quite tell what they are, but it doesn't look like any typical fungal infections I've seen.  Also, this species isn't very prone to fungal problems.

Good Growing!

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
