Carnivorous Plants/Nepenthes Singalana Need repotting

Question

Nepenthes Singalana
Allexperts,

I have a question as to whether or not this Nepenthes Singalana needs to be repotted, it appears to be over taking the pot?  Just wondering what you guys think.   Thank you for your time. I have attached a photo of the plant.

Sincerely,

Weylin

Answer
Yes and no.  Nepenthes generally have short root systems, so they can actually stay in the same pot for a relatively long time.  The only issue at this point is aesthetics.  If you want it in another pot, or if the pot keeps tipping over because it's top heavy, then you can actually repot it into a larger pot.  Otherwise, it won't harm the plant at all if you choose to keep it in there a bit longer as long as the soil remains healthy.

Good growing!
