Question
Hey there! I'm just wondering which QUIKRETE sand would be good for my Carnivorous plants before I buy it.
I found 2 type of sand in my nearby lowes store.
Play sand

All purpose sand

which is safe to use or better?

Hi Aaron,
By all means use the play sand. Play sand is well washed, and the company makes the assumption kids could be playing in it, so they don't get that from any questionable sources. Not true with all-purpose sand. I've gotten all purpose sand that had foul, even chemical odors to it. Don't use it.
If you want to use the Cadillac of sands for your soil mixes, pure silica sand is the material. It is usually sold where they would have sandblasting supplies.
