Carnivorous Plants/Water temperature

Question
Charlotte, NC Zone 8, growing various Sarracenia and Flytraps. Full sun most of the day and they sit in about 2" of rainwater.

I use clear plastic water trays that I need to replace every year due to the UV rays. If I line new containers (approx 30" by 18"), with black plastic, do I need to be concerned with the warmer water temp caused by the black plastic? The containers sit an a table on my patio.

Thank you
Chuck

Answer
You have nothing to worry about.  If you see videos and photos of our nursery, you'll notice that all of our pools and trays are black.  This is a good way to prevent UV damage to the plastic, while still being safe for the plants.  A lot of nurseries also use black trays for this very reason.

We no longer answer how-to questions (i.e. How do I propagate...?; How do I grow...?).

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
