Question

filiformis:
Allexperts,

I have a question about this sundew will sundew ever pull threw and start to grow.  Is this plant going to die and there nothing I can do for it.  I have picture attached to this email. Thank you for your time.  If is dead when will you guys put drosera filiformis on your web page.

Sincerely,

Weylin Callery

Answer
Yes, I'm afraid so.  It should have had some signs of new growth by now.  The resting bud should also have some green around it.  It's difficult to ascertain why it didn't make it, but fungus is the most likely cause since sundews tend to be very susceptible.  Even for us, we lose a few each winter.  At this time, we won't won't be releasing anymore filiformis except for tracyi.  That plant will go online in June.

Good growing!

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
