Question
Should I cut the flower stock when the plant is done making the seeds? Also why is my sarracenia flava pitchers falling down as soon as they open up the trap?
Hi Clara,
Usually the flower stalk is dead when seeds are ripe, and that is usually in September or October. Cutting it off is fine.
Pitchers falling over when first opening is almost always due to the plants not having enough sun. If you've been having heavy rain, that could do it also, or a combination of the two.
