Carnivorous Plants/water

Question
I know that normal brita type water filters are useless for removing solutes in water, but I was wondering if you guys have heard of the zerowater home filters that claim their product achieves 0 on TDS meters and creates water purity equal to reverse osmosis units or distilled water you buy at the grocery store.  If you have any information about this product and its suitability for use with carnivorous plants I would appreciate it.  If it works this would be an obviously great alternative for small collectors that have too many plants to just buy distilled water but can't justify buying a RO unit.

Answer
Hi Richard,

Zero Water units are great.  I was very happy when I saw these come out, because they are great for small collections.  Zero Water uses an ion exchange bed in the filter rather than just a carbon filter, and they take out just about everything.  The starter kit comes with a TDS meter also, which can be around 30-50 bucks.  They are more expensive to use than R.O., but less than bottled water, or the hassle of lugging bottles to the grocery store for water from the machines.

Good Growing!

We no longer answer how-to questions (i.e. How do I propagate...?; How do I grow...?).

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
