Question
I have three pots of Cepahalotus. This year two of the pots had plants that flowered and now I have collected lots of seeds. The other plant flowered well and produced seeds last year, but there were no flowers from it this year. Do Cephalotus plants flower only once in their lifetime?
Hi Henry,
We've had several of our plants bloom multiple times. Cephalotus flowering is determined by plant age, health, and experiencing seasons. They need a winter cool-down with short days, then they tend to bloom in the summer. I find most of ours bloom when they reach a certain size. They are kept in the 50's and 60's in the winter. It could be they need to be fed a bit more also. If your plants haven't caught many insects than can affect flowering.
