Carnivorous Plants/Flava

Question
Hey guys, Jason from AZ here. Jeff, I watched your podcast this morning for September care. I was wondering what your thoughts are on my Flava. I remember you told me that you have growers in Hawaii and that Sarracenia have no problem going dormant there. So, my question is about mine. We are still in the mid to low hundreds with lows in upper 70's. My Flava is still producing pictures. Should I expect the winter leaves later this year? I did not know if the growers in Hawaii deal with that too. Thanks again.

Jason

Answer
Hi Jason,

You'll probably see the phyllodia by the end of this month, or early October.  It'll probably coincide with your nights getting into the 50's.

On a different note I wanted to let you know that I'm getting plenty of mileage out of your photos.  The question I just answered before yours was someone from Arizona just starting out, but making the usual assumptions.  They have great educational value.  How are your Venus Flytraps looking right now? (The outside ones.)

Good Growing!

PLEASE READ BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR QUESTION:
We no longer answer how-to questions (i.e. How do I propagate...?; How do I grow...?).

Instead, we help growers by diagnosing a specific plant problem and offering solutions (i.e. Why is my sundew not producing dew?; Is now a good time to divide my Sarracenia?; Why are the traps turning black?; What's a good substitute for perlite?; Why didn't my seeds germinate?; Can you identify this carnivorous plant for me?)
