My Nepenthes
My Nepenthes
I donīt know why my nepenthes is not growing its pitchers.
My plant is in a West window, I'm using rain water, the soil is made out of crushed leafs, I've had the plant for abut 1 year i don't really know how old it is.

Hi Eduardo,

Thank-you for sending a picture.  That alwyas helps.  It looks like your plant is starting to grow a pitcher.  You may have just needed more time.

It looks like from the picture that your keeping your plant a bit too wet.  They like moist soil, but Nepenthes don't like to sit in water.  When you water, water until you get runoff, but don't allow the pot to sit in water.  That could be why the leaves look a bit yellow.

Your soil media is also is a bit unusual.  The crushed leaves may be ok, but see if you can get some coconut chips or sphagnum moss to mix in with the soil.  A little orchid bark could help also.  Nepenthes like a loose mix that retains some water.
