Carnivorous Plants/Nepenthes seed question

Question
Hello Jacob and Jeff,

I have just begun a new challenge...grow 4 different nepenthes from seed.
I have read all I can read online, (I also have 2 of your 3 videos) and have only one question (at the moment) about how to treat the seeds.  I have them under my floro setup where I keep some of my other neps.  The question is, would you recommend I wrap the pots with seeds in plastic, or place them in a plastic bag?  To this point I have read that the seeds need the %100 humidity to germinate.  A few growers seem to recommend keeping them in the same environment you grow your adult neps in, and to not wrap/bag them.
What do you recommend?
Thanks,
Ed

Answer
Hi Ed,

If you have a greenhouse that is already fairly humid you wouldn't need a covering, but it sounds like you have them under lights, so you will need to do something to keep the humidity up.  Propagating dome trays work great, or like you sound like you may have read, making little tents with bags works fine too.  I tend to lean towards propagating domes since they easier to monitor, and more reliable than plastic bags.  They are fairly inexpensive.  Here some examples:  http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/product/1020-trays/seed-starting  The domes are found down on the lower end of the page.

Good Growing!
