Question
Hello. I am a first time nepenthes owner.I was wondering how do you grow new ones do they have seeds or do you do them as a runner. I would appreciate any info you can give me. I think these are the neatest plants. Or do you recommend a book on these plants. Thank You Debbie

Answer
Hello Debbie Hammer,
The genus Nepenthes is unique amongst the carnivorous plants as the only dioecious genus. That is, there are male and female Nepenthes plants. This state is uncommon but not rare in the plant world. If you wish to make Nepenthes seeds, you must have a male plant and a female plant flowering at the same time.

Expertise

I can answer almost everything about carnivorous plants and how to care for them. This includes sundews, Pitcher plants, Venus fly trap, and other carnivores. I can not answer questions on bladderworts or butterworts. I don't know much about them. Enjoy Your Plants!

Experience

I have raised carnivores and I learned how to take care of them. I've had great success growing these fascinating plants.

Education/Credentials
I learned about these plants by doing research for months. I checked out books and went online. I actually did this to take care of my carnivorous plants myself but all this researching I did made me a great talent at it.
