AboutBob Buethe Expertise Can answer questions about American (and some European and Asian) comic strips, cartoonists, and comic books (especially from the 1960s and `70s). Also well-versed on topics related to cartooning techniques, composition, and art supplies.
I don't consider myself an expert on animated cartoons, or on the collectibles market (i.e., how much old comic books or cartoon artwork are worth). If asked, I'll try to answer questions in these areas, but you can probably get equally good answers from Wikipedia or Google.

Question I really want to know what this cartoon is. I watched it when I was about 4 years old and only started getting vivid memories of it now. It was kinda mixed in with the memory of 'Time Masters' but it's not that. Okay this is what I remember - it might not be accurate as it is the first time I'm recalling it for 20 years! (and some may be mixed with time masters)
This spaceship thing crash lands on a planet but it keeps moving along the ground, then it's like a motorbike or something. The scenery is kinda like a dessert with pinkish yellowish hues in my memory. And then he goes into this cave/castle/dungeon. There is no one else in the story in my memory. He gets entangled in these white tentacle things coming from the ground and they're wrapping around his arms, and he manages to rip them off but they keep coming... and I don't know how he escapes. Another part of the animation is that he goes into this chamber with football sized pods and drinks from them - it's kinda pinkish in my memory... I don't remember anymore but he looks like a super hero or space traveller of some sort.
Please let me know if you require anymore info... I remember it vividly.
Answer Hi, Jennifer --
I'm thinking that it's probably the 1988 French film "Gandahar" which was released in English under the title "Light Years."
YouTube has it in eight parts. You can see the first part here:
