Question I have two cats that were both strays, and I am having a very difficult time looking after them. I barely make enough money to pay the bills and can't afford to take them to the vet or feed them properly. It is breaking my heart. I have looked after them and love them with all of my heart. Does anyone know of any organisations in Oregon that might be able to help me. I can not imagine my life without them, but I really need some help.
Answer Hi Andy,
I'm sorry but I'm unaware of any specific organizations that offer help in your area, as I am not from Oregon. You may want to check out the local phone book and do a web search such as this: http://search.msn.com/results.asp?q=oregon%20cat%20rescue
The above search did appear to list quite a few cat organizations and charities. If you don't find any help, your best alternative might be to check with veterinarians. Often times, it is the vets who are quite a few miles out from the major ciites that are more willing to help with costs and/or offer free services. They tend to stay less busy (at least from what I've heard) and are generally cheaper in price than city vets. I really think it'd be worth taking the time and talking to vets...you just might find one who would be willing to help you out or perhaps you could volunteer some of your time to help at the vet clinic in exchange for veterinary services for your cats.
I wish you the best.

Experience
I have done research on the relationship between feline diet and feline diabetes due to my personal experience in dealing with one of my own cats. I am a pet lover and always have numerous cats and dogs. I believe in feeding a high quality and by-product free diet. Diet alone cured my diabetic cat as well as either cured or significantly helped many others.
