Experience
I have done research on the relationship between feline diet and feline diabetes due to my personal experience in dealing with one of my own cats. I am a pet lover and always have numerous cats and dogs. I believe in feeding a high quality and by-product free diet. Diet alone cured my diabetic cat as well as either cured or significantly helped many others.

Question
2 month old kittens were just taken to their new  home. They were still nursing and eating solid food with their mother.  Should warm milk continue to be given for a while

Answer
Hi!  At 7-8 weeks of age, kittens are usually completely weaned from their mother and no longer need any milk at all.  However, some mother cats will allow the kittens to nurse for longer.  It is perfectly fine for them to eat canned, dry, and raw food without being given any milk at this age.  I do recommend a combination of either raw/dry, canned/dry, or raw/canned/dry for all cats.  Please read some of my past articles on diet and nutrition: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Cat-Food-3490/indexExp_83830.htm
I also have posted several responses on feeding schedules and how much and how often to feed kittens.  Kittens at 8 weeks should be fed at least 3 times a day, preferably 4 for a few more weeks.  Just be sure to never allow cats to graze on food all day, particularly one of the big name commercial foods...they are loaded in grains, sugars, etc. and often lead to problems later in life.  Please read my past answers on food brands as well.  ...and please, give one of the by-product free 'truly' premium foods a try.  I honestly think you'll see a difference in a very short time.
Hope this helps :-)
