Cat Food - cat's teeth pulled, how long to feed them soft food

Expert: Marie Peppers / Cat Food / NuVet Feline Formula. - 6/21/2009

Question
Hi.  My 5 1/2 year old female cat recently had 12 teeth pulled due to decay.  7 had already fallen out without my knowledge.  My question is...how long should she eat canned (soft) cat food before transferring back to dry food?  Is there a special way to transfer back (mixing, etc.)?  Thanks so much, Heidi

Answer
*cat tooth decay ; nuvet - cat's dental health; home-made cat food ; cat food recipes:
Let me know if you want to make some home cooked food?  I have some recipes to help.
Did you try the Salmon oil ???  Add some NuVET feline powder to your cats foods:
see here for NuVET

Hi Heidi, Oh, Poor cat kid!  I think that I would keep her on wet or moist food ....no more dry - the wet food keeps them from getting kidney failure / very common in cats.
How about a good brand like : Innova, Wellness, Merrick, Solid Gold or even SoJo ( home made with help - you add your own lightly cooked meats....
see here for free shipping:

Also, you may want to give your little one some Salmon oil - 1/2 teaspoon per day - mixed into the cat food.

Good luck!
