My cat has been on rx diets (high fiber or high protein dry foods) for a couple years now but she just isn't losing any weight. I only feed her 1/3cup of food 2x a day and she only gets one low fat treat a day. What food should I get for her to help her lose 2-3lbs? She is 3 years old and active (indoor cat only). Should she be on wet food because it is lower in carbs or dry because it is better for their teeth? Although, the vet did say she has some gingivitis so I guess the dry isn't helping her teeth anyway. Specific brands would be very helpful! thank you!

Hi Ellen,  See if you can find this kind of cat food at the local pet store:
Innova, Wellness, or Solid Gold brands are wonderful.
Feed her a little less than what the bag says.
The bag is just a guideline for amounts to feed.

You can also feed some wet canned food, as a topper treat.
All the brands have Wet and Dry food.
Always make sure you have very fresh water on hand.  Many cats seem to like the water dishes that are like a fountain.

To help her digest and to build up her energy levels to burn off calories use the NuVET Supplement each day.
