Question
My 7 year old cat is sick and all the test are coming back fine. The bill has passed 1000 and I dont know what to do. He is a healthy eater at 19 lbs. He stopped eating 4 days ago and has had vomiting and diarrhea since. On the 2nd day took him to the vet, they did a urinanalysis that showed he had an infection. his blood test came back fine, liver was good, kidneys were good, his salt levels were low and he was dehydrated. Brought him home and continued his antibiotics but still wouldnt eat so vet hospitalized him. Did an xray didn't show anything so he did one with barium that didn't show anything. Diarrhea has mucous, and blood sometimes. He's been on an IV for 2 days now. Vomiting under control but had severe diarrhea. Next step is exploratory surgery. What can be wrong?
Hi Elisa, You say the urine showed infection? Please don't do surgery unless you get another opinion. You can take his Chart to another Vet for a 2nd opinion.
Sounds like he may have a virus on top of a urinary infection?
