Question
hi..

i have a free sample of feline greenies and iv'e heard that they have been
recalled within the past year for dogs- the dogbone greenies, and some dogs
died.  I'm not sure that the feline greenies are okay for my cats since there
was that recall.  i dont want them to get sick or anything. I hope that you can
help me.

Thanks.

Answer
Hi. I actually just contacted the makers of Feline Greenies just the other day because I was worried about the ingredients myself.  They assured me that they are made from human grade ingredients and are by-product free.  From looking at their web page and the ingredients listed, I feel pretty certain that this is correct.  Thus, I don't see any potentially toxic ingredients or reasons they would be recalled.  I wouldn't suggest feeding a ton of them though...as they do contain grains and sugars.  They are great for an occasional treat and my animals do love them.
Hope this helps :-)

Experience

I have done research on the relationship between feline diet and feline diabetes due to my personal experience in dealing with one of my own cats. I am a pet lover and always have numerous cats and dogs. I believe in feeding a high quality and by-product free diet. Diet alone cured my diabetic cat as well as either cured or significantly helped many others.
