Cat Training and Behavior (Domestic and Feral)/Cat problem because of meowing at night

Question
My cat meow all night and i can't sleep, he's fixed and it all started of late. Help !!!?
I can't believe it !... my cat, the most sweet thing you'd ever seen, it has turned into some kind of of predator at nite all of a sudden. I have tried all kinds of sporadic and rather un-orthodox methods to np avail. NOw all i'm thinking is that a bb gun will do away with my little problem, ok..ok... jk

I know some of you have a clue on why this is happening to a 1 year old energetic and healthy animal that is fixed so what you may be thinking is out of the question.
Again, help me because i would like to get some shut eye once in a while.

Answer
I'll go back into my experience with 4 cats...meowing at night could be boredom (hey, let's play!), noticing something outside, most likely other cats using HIS flower garden as a porta-potty, or (this is the #1 reason in our household), there's a favorite toy that the cat is playing with (we call it the Jungle Cat Yodel).

Yeah, it's annoying as heck, as usually the little stinkers tend to pull this stunt on Sunday nights. Thankfully, you have a healthy and obviously energetic cat, so perhaps, even though this guy probably sleeps all day to save on energy for his nighttime prowls, maybe a play session at night could poop him out a little. If you lack teh energy at night (as yours truly), a simple laser light winging around a wall could tire out the cat.

And check around the furniture for any stray toys. Perhaps he's also unable to reach for one under a sofa and is yelling at you to get it for him (happened to me. When I finally fished out some ancient rag mouse - never mind that my cat-toy box has other mice - the cat gave me such a 'finally, and you think you're superior' snort).
