Why is my 13 year old persian cat pooping on the carpet everywhere !!
If this is a new behavior, and taking into account the cat's age, it could have some medical issue behind it which a vet can diagnose. Sometimes older cats lose control of their bowel movements.
Also anything even as basic as new type of litter, dirty litterbox (my mother's cat refuses to use the litterbox more than once, and my mom has to constantly clean out the box everytime he exits it), or any change in the household.
I'm still of the opinion that if this is a new behavior, then a visit to the vet might be in order, at least to rule out any medical problem that could progressively get worse.
